The Opportunity
The Claims Technical Advisor will provide technical claims advice within the auto line of business and serve as a subject-matter expert to support the development of line-specific training.
What To Expect
- Provide technical claims advice within the auto line of business and serve as a subject-matter expert to support the development of line-specific training.
- Support frontline adjusting teams and leadership by providing technical guidance and building overall claims expertise.
- Develop, document, and maintain standards, policies, and procedures related to auto claims handling.
- Develop and deliver clear, concise technical communications to multiple claims groups.
- Participate in Quality Assurance file reviews and audits; support the development of action plans and document outcomes.
- Keep team members informed of relevant industry, legal, and internal corporate developments.
- Provide technical input and necessary information to internal and external partners, including Claims partners, Actuarial, Underwriting, and independent appraisal vendors.
- Collaborate with claims partners to assess, evaluate, and develop ongoing training needs.
- Manage risk related to auto legal matters, including statements of claim and litigation-related issues.
- Collaborate with our SIU & adjusting teams to review claims and provide technical guidance.
What You Bring
- University degree in any discipline, a 2-year college diploma, or a CIP designation.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience handling auto claims or supporting an auto claims team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative team player who is adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced operation while remaining calm under pressure.
- Professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions with customers, partners, and colleagues.
- Leadership experience is considered an asset.
- Legal or litigation-related experience is considered an asset.
Salary Range: $73 500 - $123 500
