Supports Neo’s in-house Legal team with contract drafting and review, execution workflows, corporate governance, entity management, legal research, external legal spend, and maintenance of legal records, SOPs, playbooks, and templates. The role requires independent organization, discretion, strong communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced fintech environment under legal counsel supervision.

Senior Legal Counsel will advise Neo on corporate, commercial, regulatory, employment, privacy, and financing matters. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating agreements, identifying legal risks, developing policies, maintaining contract systems, conducting legal research, improving contract processes, updating customer disclosures, and managing external counsel. The role requires collaboration with business stakeholders in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Develops and optimizes credit acquisition strategies, underwriting criteria, credit line assignment rules, and automated decisioning processes. Uses SQL, Python or R, advanced analytics, and machine learning to monitor portfolio performance, delinquency, defaults, and credit exposure. Collaborates with Credit Operations, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Growth teams to implement risk controls, manage exceptions, ensure regulatory compliance, and translate analytical insights into actionable credit policies.

Leads Neo’s existing customer management and collections credit risk strategies. Oversees credit line management, decision engines, scorecards, A/B testing, loss forecasting, stress testing, bureau relationships, executive dashboards, governance, and regulatory compliance. Builds and mentors risk analytics teams while partnering with operations, product, engineering, compliance, executives, regulators, and external credit bureaus to optimize portfolio yield and control credit losses.

The role involves building and owning production systems and services, conducting code reviews, writing tests, and mentoring engineers. The position emphasizes accountability for production quality and architectural decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Lead design and implementation of high-performance React Native mobile apps for iOS, Android, and Web. Set architecture, optimize performance (including native Swift/Kotlin bridging), own features end-to-end from design through App Store/Play Store deployment, drive developer experience tooling, champion automated testing, and mentor engineers while collaborating closely with product and design in an on-site Calgary team.
