Owns the end-to-end design, implementation, rollout, and iteration of backend APIs and platform systems supporting customer entitlements, policies, onboarding, and integrations. Provides technical leadership and mentorship, collaborates across engineering teams, extends AI-powered customer experiences, and helps prioritize and deliver product roadmap outcomes.

The Enterprise Sales Engineer partners with sales teams to acquire and expand enterprise customers. Responsibilities include assessing technical requirements, conducting product demonstrations and proof-of-concepts, responding to RFPs and RFIs, supporting technical evaluations, engaging stakeholders, partnering with engineering on feature requests, and representing the company in webinars, conferences, and other marketing initiatives.

Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs for shared platform capabilities. Own features end to end, create technical designs, collaborate with Product and Experience teams, and contribute to a product-driven roadmap. The role requires strong backend engineering, Go proficiency or rapid ramp-up ability, API design experience, cloud-native architecture knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a remote startup environment.

Build and operate secure, customer-facing repositories, package registries, APIs, and backend services in Go. Develop features from design through testing, rollout, monitoring, and iteration while improving scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and security. Participate in technical design, code reviews, production troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration to support artifact serving across libraries, containers, images, APKs, and other formats.

Lead the architecture, development, scaling, and production operation of Chainguard’s malware scanning platform. Build detection-quality measurement systems, high-throughput scanning pipelines, verdict APIs, customer investigation and policy services, and reliable production infrastructure. Partner with Product Security to productionize threat detections, ensure performance and correctness, manage incidents, and improve observability. Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across Product, Security, Design, and GTM.

Build and maintain automation systems for package creation, testing, and container image generation. Develop Go-based CLI tools, services, and integrations, along with AI- and LLM-powered pipelines for manifest generation, test scaffolding, and validation. Create quality tooling, evaluation loops, and security gates while contributing to system architecture and roadmap planning. Collaborate with distributed engineering teams across North America, Europe, and India.
