Conduct hydrogeological assessments, groundwater monitoring, aquifer and hydraulic conductivity testing, drilling oversight, borehole logging, and well design. Analyze field data and support technical reports while supervising field personnel and managing project budgets, schedules, equipment, and mobilization. Interpret environmental regulations, improve internal procedures, mentor teams, and perform fieldwork across western Canada in variable conditions.

Assists Hydrovac operators with unit operations, maintenance, inspections, housekeeping, documentation, and customer service. Ensures compliance with safety, transportation, hazardous materials, environmental, and company regulations. Requires at least one year of Hydrovac or Combovac swamper experience, a clean Class 5 driver’s abstract, safety tickets, physical fitness, independent work ability, and willingness to accept after-hours calls.

Lead and grow Vertex's Urban Development & Infrastructure practice in Alberta by managing multidisciplinary environmental and biophysical projects, ensuring technical excellence, mentoring staff, driving business development, client relationship management, regulatory permitting, and overseeing Stage 1/2 ESAs, remediation and reclamation work.

Provide technical and administrative support for well abandonment projects: prepare abandonment programs and regulatory applications, review well files and logs, support scheduling, cost tracking, QA of field operations, maintain project databases, and apply Python automation to improve engineering workflows.
