Job Description
Overview:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for completing monthly accounting, job cost management and financial reporting for selected land projects and related entities. They will be responsible to critically evaluate on-going performance, efficiency, reporting, and internal controls, Joint Venture reporting for both Operations and Finance. In addition to these duties, they will be working on cross-functional teams as well as leading staff.
Key Deliverables:

Direct and manage all Communities accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and quarterly working papers, as well as preparation of financial reporting packages

Review Communities division accounting activities, including but not limited to divisional journal entries and supporting calculations

Coordinate divisions for quarterly reporting and audits (both internal and external)

Evaluate current accounting processes and provide recommendations for improvements and efficiencies

Assist in ad hoc projects and analysis

Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to identify ways to continuously improve processes, participating in software enhancements and supporting co-workers duties during periods of high volume or transition
Skills & Experience:
-
CPA designation
-
5+ years’ experience, with 3+ years in public accounting
-
3+ years’ experience in a manager position
-
High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
-
Superior organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
-
Commitment to continuous improvement
-
Experience in the real estate industry and/or in a large corporation would be an asset
