Job Description

Overview:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for completing monthly accounting, job cost management and financial reporting for selected land projects and related entities. They will be responsible to critically evaluate on-going performance, efficiency, reporting, and internal controls, Joint Venture reporting for both Operations and Finance. In addition to these duties, they will be working on cross-functional teams as well as leading staff.

Key Deliverables:

  • Direct and manage all Communities accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and quarterly working papers, as well as preparation of financial reporting packages

  • Review Communities division accounting activities, including but not limited to divisional journal entries and supporting calculations

  • Coordinate divisions for quarterly reporting and audits (both internal and external)

  • Evaluate current accounting processes and provide recommendations for improvements and efficiencies

  • Assist in ad hoc projects and analysis

  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to identify ways to continuously improve processes, participating in software enhancements and supporting co-workers duties during periods of high volume or transition

Skills & Experience:

  • CPA designation

  • 5+ years’ experience, with 3+ years in public accounting

  • 3+ years’ experience in a manager position

  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Superior organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Commitment to continuous improvement

  • Experience in the real estate industry and/or in a large corporation would be an asset
