Minimum Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in accounting, finance, economics, or a related at an accredited post-secondary institution

  • You must be returning to full-time studies after the work term

  • Please attach your most recent transcripts with your application

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the identification, development, and implementation of technical solutions, process improvement, and cost saving opportunities

  • Perform and assist with period-end financial duties and reporting through: compiling information and numbers, preparing presentations, performing variance analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliations

  • Collaborate within and outside of the finance organization to support business processes

  • Support our credit team with credit reports and the parental guaranty process for counterparties

  • Assist in the vendor audit process for cost recovery from vendors while utilizing a real-time attest approach

Location and other Key Details

  • This is an 8, 12 or 16-month work term starting in May 2025

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W. or out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta

  • Students who live and work in Fort McMurray are eligible for a cash allowance to address the cost of living and the remote challenges associated with the region
