The Accounts Receivable Clerk will manage incoming payments, process financial transactions, prepare invoices, reconcile ledgers, generate reports, and interact with clients regarding billing issues. The role involves chasing outstanding payments and maintaining a positive relationship with clients.

To support us in this immediate growth, we are looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our accounting team in our downtown Montreal office to perform a variety of accounts receivable related tasks.
What You'll Be Doing
- Accounts Receivable Management:
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data.
- Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Billing and Collections:
- Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.
- Facilitate the payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
- Manage collections reminders and chase up with clients for outstanding payments.
- Clean up of accounts receivable over 1 year old through significant collections efforts and issuance of credit notes.
- Reporting and Compliance:
- Generate financial statements and reports detailing the accounts receivable status.
- Produce specialized client reporting by division and learner (e.g., SSC, EDC, RCMP).
- Client Interaction:
- Respond to client inquiries related to billing and payments.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with clients to maintain positive relationships and minimize late payments.
Key Certifications and Experience Include
- DEC or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum two (2) years' work experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounts receivable or a similar role within a finance department.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, proficient in both written and verbal communications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
