CF Industries is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant in the Engineering Department, located at our Medicine Hat Complex. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering. The Administrative Assistant plays an essential role in supporting a wide range of administrative support functions for the Engineering Department including AFE (Authorization of Expenditure) Cost Tracking, managing the MOC (Management of Change) Program, and creating Work Orders from EWR’s.

Position Overview:

CF Industries is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant in the Engineering Department, located at our Medicine Hat Complex. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering. The Administrative Assistant plays an essential role in supporting a wide range of administrative support functions for the Engineering Department including AFE (Authorization of Expenditure) Cost Tracking, managing the MOC (Management of Change) Program, and creating Work Orders from EWR’s.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and track Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) costs to ensure accurate budgeting and financial reporting
  • Oversee the Management of Change (MOC) program, ensuring all changes are documented and implemented according to company policies.
  • Generate and manage work orders from Electronic Work Requests (EWRs) to support maintenance and operational activities.
  • Daily reporting during Turnarounds on cost tracking.
  • Daily monitoring, filing using current EHS database EMIS items
  • Tracking MOC Work Orders through completion.
  • Creating Work Order Packages to handover to the construction group.
  • Assist Engineering Team with administrative duties.

What you’ll bring:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Graduate from an accredited Office Technology/Business post-secondary program.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and attributes to perform successfully in the key areas of People Leadership, Results Leadership, Thought Leadership & Self Leadership.
  • Enthusiasm: Willingness to participate, contribute and learn everyday functions related to the Administrative Assistants roles on the plant site. 
  • Time Management: Identifies, establishes priorities, and executes tasks to consistently deliver results within required timelines.
  • Teamwork: Inspires the team to act in ways that uphold a culture built on safety and operational excellence.
