The Opportunity

TC Energy is seeking a driven Administrative Associate to support our Canada Gas Natural Pipelines Law legal group. Reporting to the Manager, Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines Gas Support, you will contribute to our success by providing legal administrative support to the overall department and directly support multiple lawyers. Your helpful and positive attitude and keen eye for detail will be valued in this high pace environment.

What You'll Do

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information in a timely, trustworthy and professional manner;
  • Provide administrative support, including maintaining electronic and hard copy legal files, scheduling meetings and appointments, coordinating travel arrangements, ordering supplies, time recording, preparing expense reports for lawyers and paralegals;
  • Coordinate daily office administrative duties (mail, deliveries, filing, etc.), as well as facilities for meetings, events, training and catering;
  • Manage all forms of information using department and Company document management processes, including a number of department email boxes;
  • Assist with the preparation of legal documents, correspondence, reports, and submissions;
  • Provide leadership in coordination with others to address departmental or interdepartmental tasks; and,
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary certification in administration from a recognized institution;
  • Minimum of 1 years of progressive related experience;
  • Exceptional computer skills, ideally intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as ability to prepare materials utilizing suite of Microsoft tools with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines;
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail;
  • Exceptional judgement and discretion when dealing with internal and external parties particularly when dealing with confidential matters;
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

Strong interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor and client focus;

Proven organizational, planning and prioritization skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines and build, maintain and manage filing systems;

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the capability to manage information and correspondence at all levels of the organization;

Experience working as a legal assistant in a corporate legal in-house environment would be an asset; and,

Experience with SAP and legal software.
