OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Risk and Business Continuity Management (BCM) Advisor to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Manager, Risk and BCM, the Advisor plays a key role in gathering, analyzing, and coordinating risk and continuity information across the organization. The advisor will work closely with departmental leaders, operational teams, and external partners to ensure risks are appropriately documented and monitored, and provide advise relating to risk and business resilience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Support the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Business Continuity Programs.
Support the design, development, and maintenance of business continuity plans (BCPs) to ensure minimal disruption to critical business operations during incidents. Conduct business impact analysis (BIA) and update continuity plans regularly.
Support crisis management response efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate incident responses.
Regularly report risk assessments, business continuity performance, and progress of mitigation strategies to management and key stakeholders.
Provide advice on risk management and business continuity.
Ensure business continuity and risk management practices align with industry standards and best practices.
Provide advise on the development and implementation of risk policies and procedures.
Proactively participate in internal and external cross-functional teams and build effective working relationships to support a collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
A minimum of three years of directly related experience in enterprise risk management (ERM).
A minimum of three years of experience in business continuity planning (BCP).
A related undergraduate degree in Business, risk management or in other relevant fields.
Completion of Risk Management, Internal Audit or Business Continuity certifications or designations is considered an asset.
Knowledge of risk management principles, including risk identification, assessment, controls and mitigation strategies.
Experience supporting the development and monitoring of business continuity and incident management planning processes.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across departments.
Clear written, verbal communication abilities, including experience preparing reports or presentations.
Commitment to customer service and supporting business partners through guidance and clear communication.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data and identify gaps in documentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Power BI
Experience with GRC tools would be an asset.
