Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Counsel, Corporate you will be accountable to act as a legal resource for the corporate functions of the global enterprise.
Tasks and Responsibilities

• Act as a legal resource for all corporate functions of the global enterprise (including finance, accounting, treasury, compliance, information technology, and environment, health and safety).

• Support finance and treasury related activities, including M&A transactions, public financing and banking matters.

• Draft and review securities and corporate disclosure documents, including ensuring compliance with various continuous disclosure obligations and filings.

• Liaise and coordinate legal services with external counsel.

• Research and provide updates to management on applicable laws, regulations, and policies affecting the business, in various jurisdictions.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

• A law degree (LL.B. or Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school and eligibility to practice in Canada.

• 3-5 years post-call experience at a top tier law firm required.

• Experience handling finance, securities, compliance and information technology preferred.  

• Commercial sensibility and pragmatic approach to solution oriented legal services.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

• Ability to be versatile and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work and communicate effectively with business partners and stakeholders across all levels of the enterprise.
