AltaGas is driving forward with ambitious capital projects that will share our future. We are seeking a strategic leader as Director, Supply Chain, ensuring supply chain excellence across a portfolio of high-value, complex initiatives. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain, this Calgary-based leader will set and execute the strategy, lead, mentor and develop the team, drive alignment with governance and industry best practices, and position the function as a key enabler of operational success and innovation.
What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership and Advisory: Define and implement a strategic project approach within the supply chain function for large capital projects, ensuring alignment with AltaGas’s business objectives, governance structures, and industry best practices, while fostering collaboration with stakeholders, including Indigenous groups, to ensure sustainable and inclusive project outcomes.

Vendor and Contract Management: Drive evolution of the vendor base by integrating international partnerships and strategic opportunities including performance metrics, while overseeing procurement and contract management to align with AltaGas’s risk profile and financial reporting requirements.

Team Leadership and Execution: Lead a team managing procurement and contract operations for capital projects, identifying opportunities for process improvement and standardization of best practices and elevating the team to meet ambitious project goals.

Innovation: Identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and optimize logistics for large-scale assets and infrastructure, while implementing market-driven strategies to navigate shifting supply chain dynamics.
Who You Are

Experience: With at least 2 years experience in a strategic leadership role you bring 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors, with expertise in large-scale capital projects and a proven track record in both procurement and contract management.

Visionary Leader: You excel at evolving teams and strategies, bringing fresh ideas and proven methodologies to drive organizational excellence and stakeholder alignment.

Globally-Minded Innovator: You’re familiar with international vendor landscapes and supply chain innovations, with a proactive approach to integrating best practices into procurement and contract processes.

Strategic and Risk-Savvy: You have a strong understanding of project management principles, governance, and geotechnical considerations, with the ability to assess and mitigate risk through well-structured agreements.
