Job Description
AltaGas - Sr Financial Analyst - NGL Marketing
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance, Energy Services, this pivotal role is at the heart of our natural gas liquids (NGL) trading activities.
You Will:
-
Responsible for full cycle accounting for a specific area. Including settlements, inventory reconciliations and calculations of WACOG

Provide detailed analysis of product movements and review standard costing assumptions

Calculate monthly accrual entries to ensure accurate results and provide assistance in analyzing variances to benchmarks
-
Execute critical controls over financial reporting as part of periodic accounting cycles
-
Complete reconciliations for general ledger accounts
-
Liaise between customers, front office, middle office, tax and management to develop and maintain a clear flow of information

Assist in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc requests
You Have:
-
Professional accounting designation (CPA) or working towards a designation, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience

Previous experience within or exposure to the midstream space

Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, have a strong attention to detail and be able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines

Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite – especially MS Excel

Bachelors’ Degree (Commerce, Business Administration or related discipline) with a focus on accounting or finance
-
Knowledge of JD Edwards, Allegro, Quick Launch and Power BI considered an asset
