We’re looking for a Analyst, Back Office to join our diverse & vibrant team and become part of the ATCO family. ATCO Energy operates 2 lines of business comprising of it Energy and Home Services division and the Blue Flame Kitchen. We like to call ourselves the A-Team!
The Analyst, Back Office is a critical operational role responsible for ensuring the accurate execution, analysis, and continuous improvement of retail energy fulfillment and support processes. This position combines hands-on process execution with analytical problem-solving, quality assurance, and project support to drive efficiency, mitigate risk, and maintain service standards across Electricity and Natural Gas operations.

On a daily basis, you’ll...  
Analytical Operations & Process
•    Analyze operational data and business processes to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
•    Demonstrate a willingness to take on unfamiliar or challenging tasks beyond one’s comfort zone to support team objectives and foster continuous growth.
•    Participate in continuous process improvement reviews with the OFS & SMB Support team.
•    Recommend and help implement process changes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
•    Support documentation and maintenance of process manuals and service standards.
 

Fulfillment & Support Execution
•    Perform timely and accurate fulfillment of all retail Electricity & Natural Gas business processes.
•    Assist in EBS operations and maintenance tasks under the direction of leadership or senior team members.
•    Communicate with customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex or escalated support issues.
•    Ensure adherence to information, security requirements and compliance with business processes, market regulations, and company terms & conditions.
 

Quality Assurance & Project Support
•    Participate in QA/testing activities for EBS-related projects, enhancements, and releases.
•    Support incident management by creating and updating ITSM tickets for back-office IT-related issues.
•    Assist with release management activities, including readiness reviews and deployment support.
•    Contribute to project teams by providing analytical insights and supporting project deliverables.

Team Support & Informal Leadership
•    Provide informal guidance and mentorship to junior team members; assist with onboarding and training as needed.
•    Share best practices and support knowledge transfer within the team.
•    Help monitor team workflow and provide feedback to the supervisor on process or training gaps.
•    Promote professionalism, customer service, and continuous improvement within the back-office team.
•    Prepared to assist and deliver exceptional customer service if service levels require additional support.

What you have: 
•    Minimum, Undergraduate Bachelor degree
•    3-5 years’ experience in related field
•    Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to engage with internal and external customers. 
•    Communication skills are critical.  Both verbal and written communication skills will be essential in producing the results required for the role.
•    Proven track record of high performance and career progression.  
•    An entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to create or build a business.
•    Understanding of retail markets, specifically the Alberta Energy market an asset. 
•    Comfortable with job duties that will morph as the business grows and include “other duties as assigned”.
