Job Description

  • Conduct code changes and unit testing for simple to medium system modules. Understand the business requirements and relate them to the technical specifications provided by SAs for systems development projects. Prepare design and program specifications for simple to minor requirements.

Preferred skills 

  • Must have competent programming skills in at least one of the supported Sun Life platforms
  • With basic systems analysis and design skills to appreciate Technical Specs document
  • Able to follow the development methodology used in Sun Life 
  • With foundational knowledge on Systems Development Life Cycles and deliverables
  • Possesses good oral and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills, must be very client oriented
  • Must be familiar with Office Automation tools such as MS Office and Lotus Notes, preferably with knowledge in macro programming or report writer tools
  • With high stress tolerance and capable of dealing with all levels of management.
  • Willing to work on weekends and holidays if necessary

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering & Mathematics
  • 2 to 3 years experience working on .Net/VB6 programming & analysis, preferably with testing experience
  • With background in Banking, Financial and Life Insurance business

Responsibilities

  • Understands the business requirements to do the needed code changes based on design specifications provided
  • Develop or maintain, test and implement modules to simple/minor programs according to system specifications. Identify possible scenarios and prepares tests for the systems under development.
  • Executes test plan during development and provide technical support during system testing and user acceptance testing or other testing support as required to ensure that the system processing reflects user requirements / designs
  • Provides post-implementation and production support for systems 
  • Performs implementation activities such as program promotions as well as validations
