About the Job:
atVenu is looking for an API Product Manager to drive the growth and expansion of our API offerings. • Research and propose features and best practises to provide best in class features and tools to facilitate our API adoption and usage.
  • Engage our customers, business and development teams to review product requirements; balancing between atVenu and customer goals.
  • Manage and assist inbound customer API requests; work with the development and DevOps teams to facilitate the smooth onboarding and usage of APIs.
  • Build high-trust customer relationships to become our go to for understanding customer requirements, pain points and wish lists, which will influence our strategy and roadmap.
  • Complete API integration requirement assessments to determine appropriate integration solutions; pitch proposals and plan projects based on approved integrations.
  • Travel to festivals, venues and shows to see new features in the wild and to support customers which may require crawling under tables to run power, setting up Registers, counting t-shirts, cutting down boxes, you name it. It is like being part of a crew.

  •  5-7 years solid product management experience, with at least 2 dedicated to API projects that spanned the product lifecycle.
  • Strong opinions (loosely held) on what features and tools make for a good developer API experience.
  • Solid understanding of API security best practices and how to apply them to proposed solutions.
  • Technical understanding and proficiency with:
    • API protocols, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
    • API fundamentals: RESTful APIs, GraphQL and other API architectures
    • API design principles: REST, versioning, rate limiting HTTP methods, status codes and authentication mechanisms
    • And be familiar with GraphQL, Rest, JSON, Ruby on Rails, SQL.
  • Strategic mindset, with proven ability to pivot, influence others and keep stakeholders informed.
  • A keen desire to solve problems using multiple methodologies; prioritization, buy vs. build, organization structures.
  • Willingness to work with atVenu’s lean and agile processes.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead cross-functional product teams; in person and remotely.
  • Enthusiasm for software and live events, it’ll make your work far more impactful.
