We are currently looking for an Associate, Financial Planning to join Team LWC in our Oakville office.  This role will provide support to our Senior Financial Planner and is ideal for someone looking for a long-term career in financial and retirement planning, who is looking to join a collaborative fast-paced work environment, with a growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Financial Planner with client data gathering, plan preparation, and delivery using Conquest and internal tools.
  • Prepare and send introductory planning packages, including engagement letters, document requests, and questionnaires.
  • Support the design and implementation of insurance strategies by preparing illustrations, analyzing coverage options, and assisting in the underwriting and application process.
  • Accurately input and maintain client information in financial planning software and internal systems.
  • Assist in identifying client insurance needs through financial plan reviews and support ongoing policy servicing, including reviews, adjustments, and beneficiary updates.
  • Create client-friendly plan summaries and support the delivery of financial plans in meetings (in person or virtual).
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping to meet audit requirements and ensure compliance standards are upheld.
  • Follow up with advisors and support advisor outreach as needed to move plans and client discussions forward.
  • Contribute to refining and documenting internal systems to enhance the wealth planning experience for both clients and the team.
  • Provide general support with preparing materials and documentation for client meetings.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in client-facing financial planning, wealth management, or a related role.
  • Completion of the CFP designation.
  • Insurance licensed, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning fundamentals, including wealth and estate planning and insurance concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with financial planning software (Conquest) is considered an asset.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
