Job Description

In this Product Specialist sales role, you will sell Agilent Spectroscopy systems and workflows to commercial, government, and academic institutions in the territory. You will be leveraging your technical knowledge to serve as the ICP-OES, MP-AES and AA expert for your customers and internal collaborators. We encourage independent thinking and creativity as you drive your business. You will be expected to create and develop Atomic opportunities, as well as successful strategies and tactics to increase our presence in customers’ labs, as you hold a quota and are compensated for sales in the specified geography. We are a cohesive team of specialists driving Agilent’s success in this dynamic marketplace!

The ideal candidate will be local to Chicago, IL, Santa Clara, CA, Wilmington, DE, or a major metro airport.

Responsibilities:

  • Remain up to date on Atomic market to maintain expertise on systems, competitors and workflows

  • Participate in regional technical shows and Atomic Spectroscopy related conferences

  • Have a deep knowledge of our product portfolio to ensure we support our customers with the correct solution

  • Serve as the Atomic Spectroscopy technical liaison between the account manager team, application team and customers

  • Develop and deploy unique strategies to reach customers

  • Build customer relationships

  • Drive opportunities through the complete sales cycle

  • Create and deliver seminars that educate and increase awareness of our solutions, ultimately leading to new Agilent customers

  • Provide market and product feedback to R&D

  • Use CRM and other tools as required to drive business

  • In this role you carry quota, interpret customer needs and proactively act to understand those needs, actively create business opportunities and represent Agilent in all sales-oriented activities

  • Handle complex demands and relationships to enhance customer satisfaction while exceeding Agilent sales goals

  • Significant travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor, Master or PhD in Chemistry, Biology or similar scientific discipline

  • 4+ or more years of combined experience in industry with a minimum of 3+ years of sales experience

  • Sales, end user or service experience with ICP-OES, MP-AES and AA

  • Experience collaborating with internal teams and resources

  • Willingness to embrace new ways of connecting with customers

  • Knowledge and understanding of Atomic workflows

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience presenting to groups of varying size

  • Preferred professional certification or experience with strategic selling

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least January 21, 2025 or until the job is no longer posted. It is sales incentive eligible. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $147,675.00 - $295,350.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
