Job Description

AECOM Canada Ltd is seeking an experienced Aviation Market Sector Leader to lead the achievement of growth objectives across multiple Business Lines, including Transportation, Buildings + Places, Environment and Energy. The successful candidate will have flexibility to be located in one of Canada’s major centres.


The responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Build a strong and thriving culture within the Aviation practice that promotes equity, diversity, inclusion, ESG, and innovation, while upholding technical excellence in core competencies
  • Ensure unflinching customer focus by demonstrating deep customer insight, fostering a client-driven culture, and leading market-focused solutions
  • Collaborate closely with the senior leadership team in the Canada Region and AECOM’s global Aviation market sector team
  • Develop and own the long-term vision for the sustained growth of AECOM’s Aviation business in the Canada Region in collaboration with AECOM’s Global Business Line
  • Oversee the capture process for key Aviation pursuits, ensuring best practices are followed and continuously improving capture outcomes
  • Evaluate Aviation opportunities, assessing pursuit potential based on client understanding, strategic alignment, and AECOM’s position in the market
  • Lead the client account management program for key Aviation clients, ensuring active engagement and management
  • Coordinate with local leadership across Canada to organize industry, client, and stakeholder engagement activities, including budgeting and tracking business development budgets
  • Conduct regular Aviation business development meetings with stakeholders to ensure frequent, clear communication
  • Potentially serve as project manager and principal on key projects within the Aviation market
  • Track client project needs and capital planning programs throughout Canada, with an emphasis on large and medium-sized airports
  • Work with internal resources and across Business Lines to promote market sector growth among local clients
  • Collaborate with Delivery/Operations teams to ensure project delivery processes meet desired outcomes
  • Partner with Project Managers to support and drive program and project results on a daily basis, achieving technical and business objectives



    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree + 10 years of experience in the Aviation sector or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • 2+ years of leadership experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 12+ years of relevant experience
    • Experience in business development, and strong existing relationships with Aviation clients in Canada
    • Strong understanding of best practices in business development for professional services
    • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
    • Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff
    • Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
