JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is targeting a Backup Engineer that also has some storage experience. Has experience working in a ticketing system such as ServiceNow or JSM, as well as strong case and change management focus. Someone who is familiar with ITIL standards (but does not need to be certified). The candidate should be highly proficient in English and is capable of good written and oral communication. Someone who can do backups, teach backups, and provide a stellar experience to our clients.

Working Hours / Shift: Tuesday-Saturday 10:00AM-7:00PM Eastern Time / 8:00AM-5:00PM Mountain Time / 7:00AM-4:00PM Pacific Time

Arrangement: Fully remote

EXPECTATIONS

  • Design, implement, and manage backup solutions using Azure, Avamar, Veeam, Commvault, and Rubrik.
  • Ensure data protection and disaster recovery processes are in place and functioning correctly.
  • Adhere to backup policies and procedures following client’s expectations
  • Write and update documentation around backup practices and procedures.
  • Perform regular backup and restore operations to verify data integrity.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate backup solutions with existing infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backup-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and manage storage systems including Dell, NetApp, and Pure Storage arrays.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of storage and backup capacity upgrades and migrations.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior staff as needed.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in backup and storage solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in backup and recovery solutions
  • Proficiency in managing and configuring backup and storage systems such as Dell, NetApp, and Pure Storage.
  • Strong understanding of data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in an MSP and/or financial sector
  • Experience working in a ticketing system such as ServiceNow or JSM

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with a focus on Azure, Veeam, Commvault, and Rubrik.
  • Certifications on Storage and Backup technologies
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining automations
