As an HR Business Partner (HRBP), you will play a crucial role in driving HR strategies and initiatives across various areas including Communication, DEI, Learning & Development, Recognition, Engagement & Social, Talent Acquisition, CSR, Wellness, and Talent Management. You will work closely with the Director, HRBP, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of HR programs and policies.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • HR Business Partner:
    • Assists with HR strategy by providing advice and guidance to a business area/partners on HR related issues, such as, staffing, performance management, organizational behaviour, compensation administration, HR systems etc., while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
      Identifies and collaborates with other disciplines as needed to resolve HR issues.
    • Ensures recruitment, interviewing and hiring of exempt and senior level staff is targeted to strategic business objectives.
      Stays up to date on trends and developments within HR, the functional area as well as the insurance industry.
  • Communication: Develop and implement communication strategies to ensure effective internal communication and employee engagement working in collaboration with Marketing and Communications.
  • DEI: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, working closely with our Global DEI team to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Learning & Development: Review and implement learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth, inclusive of onboarding, leadership and management programming.
  • Recognition, Engagement & Social: Create and manage recognition programs to boost employee morale and engagement. Organize social events to promote a positive work environment.
  • Talent Acquisition: Work alongside HRBPs and the HR Generalists talent to attract and acquire top talent through industry events and engagement opportunities. Collaborate with hiring managers and HRBPs to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • CSR: Drive corporate social responsibility initiatives in partnership with Marketing and Communications to support community engagement and sustainability efforts.
  • Wellness: Develop and implement wellness programs to promote employee health and well-being across Canada
  • Talent Management: Execute talent management processes including performance management, succession planning, and career development.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on the areas mentioned above.
  • Fluently bilingual in French and English an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
