About Bree

Bree is a consumer finance platform that brings better, faster, and cheaper financial services to over half the Canadian population who live paycheck to paycheck. We were part of Y Combinator in 2021 and raised a $2M seed round shortly after. We are growing at a double-digit monthly rate and are profitable. Our culture is defined by high ownership, a bias for action, tenacious problem-solving, and striving to be 1% better every day.

About the Role

Bree is seeking a data-driven, analytical, and proactive Business Operations Analyst (BizOps Analyst) to be a core driver of efficiency and scalable growth. In this role, you will optimize key business processes and turn raw operational data into actionable insights. You will serve as a key operational and analytical resource for the executive team, directly contributing to our hyper-growth environment by ensuring operational excellence data-driven decision-making.

What You'll Do
  • Business Operations & Reporting: Drive executive clarity by diving deep into the data and finding opportunities and improvement areas, then quantifying the financial impact and evaluating strategic trade-offs for key business decisions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a central operational partner, collaborating extensively with Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to execute high-impact, growth-driving initiatives.

  • Operational Excellence: Identify systemic gaps and opportunity areas in our core operations, proactively investigate root causes, and design/implement scalable, automated solutions to drive efficiency and process excellence.

  • Special Projects: Respond promptly to ad-hoc requests and lead various high-impact projects, managing them from initial research and proposal to full-scale implementation.

What You'll Need
  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant field (e.g. strategy & operations, management consulting, investment banking, business development)

  • Exceptional attention to detail, capable of translating complex operational data into clear, concise, and actionable findings.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all team members and present data-backed recommendations.

  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and drive projects autonomously.

  • Preferred: proficiency in SQL, prior experience in a fast-growing startup

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package

  • $250 monthly lunch stipend

  • $150 monthly commuting stipend

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage

What you need to know about the Calgary Tech Scene

Employees can spend up to one-third of their life at work, so choosing the right company is crucial, not just for the job itself but for the company culture as well. While startups often offer dynamic culture and growth opportunities, large corporations provide benefits like career development and networking, especially appealing to recent graduates. Fortunately, Calgary stands out as a hub for both, recognized as one of Startup Genome's Top 100 Emerging Ecosystems, while also playing host to a number of multinational enterprises. In Calgary, job seekers can find a wide range of opportunities.
