Boeing Global Services is seeking First Line Operation Managers responsible for the F/A-18 MRO team, but assignments can be adjusted to other programs/platforms based on business need (to include alternate shifts & days). The First Line Manager will lead the daily operations of the F/A-18 Operations team, performing maintenance, repair, modifications/upgrades and overhaul on the F/A-18 E/F/G platform. Responsible for adherence to and oversite of established processes, accurate and timely work recording, contractual/regulatory compliance, and provides approval/oversight of technical approaches on product within your assigned teams' RAA. Position is located in Jacksonville, FL.

Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for hiring qualified technicians and maintaining adequate certifications
- Pre-planning and acquiring resources for planned maintenance activities
- Collaborate with the team to create and meet the daily plan; create and implement recovery plans as needed; identify constraints and collaborate with functional teams to mitigate delays (i.e. NCR routing, part shortages, tooling needs, etc)
- Provides technical and personnel management of the Operations team. Manages, develops, and motivates salary and hourly technicians, shop leads and support personnel. Create a positive working environment for all teammates through building TRUST.
- Leads process improvements; investigates and resolves process failures (RCCA)
- Create and implement 5S plan
- Utilize KPI's (i.e. FTQ, Cost, Schedule, etc) to manage the daily operation of an MRO team, driving accountability and innovation to meet our customer commitments and maintain a successful business through continuous improvement.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships/partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
- Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Willing to travel up to 10%
- 5+ years of experience in Aviation Operations, Systems, Avionics, engineering and/or Flight Test
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role
- Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelors Degree or Higher
- 3+ years of experience working (or leading a team) in either avionics, mechanical or structural maintenance on the F/A-18 platform
- 3+ years of experience working in a "safe for flight" (ramp) aircraft delivery environment
- 5+ years of experience in sustainment, maintenance, and modifications (MRO facility)
- 5+ years of experience working with Government customers (i.e. DCMA, NAVAIR, NAVSUP, etc)
- 5+ years of experience implementing continuous process improvement, lean processes, and employee involvement/engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment.
