The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate IS Solutions, Plan & Build, the Business Analyst is accountable for driving value realization through the entire project lifecycle through outstanding project ideation, planning and delivery.  Our Business Analysts actively partner with business stakeholders across IS project portfolios to bridge the technical and business worlds, delivering solutions that delight our customers by solving their problems and provide maximum value to TC Energy.

What you’ll do

  • Serves as a primary point-of-contact for assigned business areas for the purpose of strategic planning, relationship management, demand management, and application portfolio optimization to maximize value of strategic investments in alignment with Information systems’ strategic objectives.
  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis
  • Solution Design and Optimization
    • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories
    • Collaborate with the IS development team to design optimal solutions that address the business needs
  • Project Delivery and Support
    • Participate in the full project lifecycle, from initiation to deployment and beyond
    • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure timely and successful delivery
    • Participate in prospecting and proposal activities (as required)
    • May support with QA, UAT and training (as required)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 8 years of pipeline and power industry experience is preferred, with demonstrable experience in Business Analysis, Project Management or Construction Management
  • Strong leadership skills: ability to create a vision, clearly communicate direction and drive to goal completion
  • A strong leader, and effective at influencing through collaboration with customers, peers and delivery teams to create value together.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BRMP or Project Management training/certification considered an asset
  • Strong skills in the areas of team facilitation, collaboration, negotiation and influencing, process mapping, problem solving and creative solutions, Stakeholder management and project management
  • Strong competencies in the following areas: Building a Successful Team; Building Partnerships; Communication; Developing Others
