Keyera is currently seeking a Business Development Analyst to join our Oil Sands Business Development team in our Calgary office. This role is pivotal in supporting commercial decision-making, optimizing revenue streams, and ensuring profitability within our oil sands operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze market dynamics, assess commercial opportunities, and develop strategies to maximize value across our asset portfolio. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify industry trends, competitor activities and regulatory changes to inform commercial negotiations and decision making.
- Perform data analysis using dashboards to evaluate commercial performance and support fact-based decision-making.
- Support the development of preliminary economic models for new commercial opportunities, asset development, and strategic initiatives.
- Support the identification of potential commercial growth opportunities including asset optimization, new or repurposed infrastructure, new service offerings and new commercial frameworks.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and planning to ensure alignment and collaboration on commercial initiatives.
- Lead the creation of the annual budget and long-term strategic planning models and presentations.
- Analyze operational data and work with operations/engineering to identify and justify new opportunities and/or risks.
- Create scenario planning tools that enable businesses to assess impact of market changes and drive future business decisions.
- Develop concise PowerPoint presentations for both internal and external audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in areas such as commercial analysis, business development, engineering, financial analysis within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, market analysis, and contract evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of midstream oil and gas markets, commercial agreements, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, GeoScout and other relevant software tools.
