WHAT WE WILL CALL THIS POSITION: 

Business Development Representative 

Travel: 0-10%: Schedule will be hybrid (remote and in-person) and will require some inperson work from our Mississauga Office. Beginning will likely have someone onsite once pr twice a week and then move to 1 day every 2 weeks based on meeting/visitors.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:     

Join Duck Creek Technologies as a dynamic and driven Business Development Representative (BDR). You will be a pivotal driver of our company's growth by creating new business opportunities and gaining invaluable experience that could pave the way for a rewarding sales career.  

 

As a key member of our team, you will be actively involved in lead prospecting, engaging in targeted marketing campaigns, and evaluating buyer intent. BDRs will be the initial point of contact for prospects and lay the groundwork for successful sales interactions. As a BDR you will receive comprehensive training in sales techniques, product knowledge and about the P&C insurance industry. You'll have the chance to collaborate closely with Sales Directors focused on large accounts.  

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Conducting proactive outreach activities daily through calls, emails, and LinkedIn engagements. 

  • Identifying pain points of prospects and adeptly articulating how Duck Creek’s solutions can address them. 

  • Cultivating an in-depth understanding of product applications, enabling you to effectively qualify and educate potential clients about the value of Duck Creek’s offerings. 

  • Conducting exploratory conversations with prospective customers, illustrating how our products align with their distinct business objectives. 

  • Collaborating with sales directors to devise tailored strategies for sales territories, geared toward achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue objectives. 

  • Partnering with the marketing and operations teams to develop precision-targeted lists, pre- and post-event follow-up tactics, and persuasive messaging to propel the generation of qualified sales leads. 

  • Diligently tracking and documenting all activities within Salesforce. 

 

WHAT YOU’VE DONE: 

  • Business Development Representative experience is a plus. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or a similar field preferred. 

  • Interest in sales development, sales or marketing. 

  • Demonstrating intellectual curiosity, a competitive spirit, and an unwavering commitment to meeting and surpassing goals. 

  • Exhibiting exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Showcasing impeccable time management and organizational capabilities, with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 

  • Thriving under pressure within a fast-paced environment. 

  • Any experience or internship with software, or technology-enabled services is a plus.  

 

WHAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW: 

  • Other Important skillsets: Ability to manage deadlines, communicate in a team, and operate independently with guidance.  
  • Travel: 0-10%: Schedule will be hybrid (remote and in-person) and will require some in-person work from our Mississauga Office
  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location. This position does not sponsor employment-based visas.  
  • Exempt Status: Salary/Non-Exempt
