Hexagon’s Mining division is looking for a Business Operations Intern to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company for the period of May 4, 2026, to May 3, 2027.

To support our focus on operational excellence and business efficiency, we are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented student to join our Commercial team. This role will provide hands-on experience working with financial data, business reporting, and account management support.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on data-driven business projects, assist in financial analysis, and gain exposure to Executive Business Reviews (EBRs) and customer account planning by shadowing Account Managers.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop analytical, financial, and communication skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while contributing to meaningful business outcomes.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position can be based in Calgary, AB or in Vancouver, BC.

As a Business Operations Intern , your responsibilities include:

  • Support Account Management initiatives and reporting activities through data collection, validation, and analysis.
  • Assist in preparing key business metrics and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Help Account Managers prepare materials and presentations for Executive Business Reviews (EBRs).
  • Shadow Account Managers to learn about customer relationships, business strategy, and performance management.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects focused on process improvement and business efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Leadership teams to streamline workflows and reporting tools.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and administrative tasks as needed to drive team objectives.

Must-Have:

  • Registered in a Business, Data Analytics, or related Co-op/Internship program, and have completed at least your 2nd or 3rd year of studies by the start of the work term.
  • Available for a 12-month work term, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in Finance, Business Operations, or Data Analysis.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems or exposure to sales/operations analytics.
