Entrust Canada is currently seeking an Intermediate Draftsperson to join our team in Calgary to support each of the design groups. We offer a dynamic work environment with a highly experienced technical team, where you will be offered guidance and hands-on training and be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering design and drafting process.
Responsibilities:
- CAD Drafting using both MicroStation & AutoCAD and associated software.
- Create 2D & 3D drawing packages for High Voltage Substation, Transmission, Distribution, Scada & Telecom projects using CAD software.
- Work interactively with both the Drafting & Engineering Teams from all disciplines.
- Use current CAD software as well as previous versions based on client specifications.
- Create scaled drawings with respect to annotation scale, model-space & paper-space.
- Import and convert vendor information, mapping, and survey data into usable CAD formats.
- Produce final product drawings from concept sketches.
- Check completed drawing packages for quality, consistency, accuracy, and compliance of client standards & specifications.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Drafting from an accredited Institute.
- 3-5 years of Drafting experience in SCADA, Telecom, P&C, Structural and Civil Drafting
- Must be proficient in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
- Experienced Technical & Drafting knowledge.
- Strong understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings for the creation of complete drawing packages.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, Bluebeam, Adobe, Excel
- Ability to work well in both a team and individual environment.
- Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively while managing multiple tasks.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- 3D drafting/design experience considered an asset.
- Utility drafting experience for Transmission, Substation, Distribution, Telecom & Scada considered an asset.
- CAD Management experience considered an asset.
