Job Summary:
As an Intermediate Platform Developer, you will develop and maintain platform infrastructure, microservices, and databases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in T-SQL. This role also includes participation in on-call rotations to maintain system availability and resolve issues promptly.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve reported issues with functionality and security
- Develop and maintain code in T-SQL and PowerShell
- Collaborate with application developers, quality assurance, and operations personnel
- Estimate the effort required to implement changes to applications and processes
- Investigate and resolve alerts provided by various monitoring services
- Notify development leads of new issues found
- Support AWS infrastructure
- Identify and improve upon strengths and weaknesses in development and business processes
- Evaluate and enhance application performance
- Automate routine tasks
- Maintain and enhance application observability
- Describe missing functionality to be considered as new features
- Document operations procedures and application output
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system availability and quick resolution of issues
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies
Skills and Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of hands-on experience
- Fluent in T-SQL
- Proficient in PowerShell/Bash
- Proficient with Git and GitHub
- Experience with object orientated programing
- Familiarity with modern development practices, including Agile methodologies
Preferred
- Experience using AWS or other cloud platforms
- Experience with Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Knowledge of web application security and best practices.
- CICD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Monitoring tools
Compensation:
Compensation Range: $70,000-$104,000 CAD
Actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on a number of variables including work experience, education and skills/ achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer. This position is not eligible for a variable pay component as part of the hiring range.
