Are you an enthusiastic and driven individual with a passion for accounting? Avis Budget Group is seeking a motivated Chief Accounting to join our Financial Accounting team. What you´ll do: 

  • Support and promote the delivery of EMEA and BSC strategic initiatives 

  • Ensure alignment of financial accounting activities with organisational goals and compliance requirements 

  • Lead end-to-end financial accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery in line with SLAs and KPIs 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders to optimise financial operations 

  • Monitor performance through KPI reporting and ensure timely follow-up of improvement actions 

  • Drive continuous process improvement and standardisation across BSC operations 

  • Ensure effective escalation and resolution of issues to maintain stakeholder confidence 

  • Oversee financial reporting outputs, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance 

  • Maintain robust process documentation in line with ISO and SOX requirements 

  • Support transition and transfer projects, ensuring effective knowledge acquisition and resource alignment 

  • Contribute to financial planning, forecasting, and delivery of financial targets 

  • Accountable for the accuracy and integrity of financial records, journal entries, and reporting outputs 

  • Responsible for timely escalation of risks and issues to senior management 

  • Accountable for assigned account reconciliations 

  • Ensure delivery in line with agreed SLAs and deadlines 

  • Maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and control (including SOX and ISO requirements) 

 

 

You should apply if you bring: 

  • Hungarian or international Chartered Accountant qualification 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in a fast-changing environment in an Accounting role  

  • Strong knowledge in Finance, IFRS, SOX, Audit & Compliance 

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience, proven ability to inspire, motivate and drive others  

  • Strong stakeholder management and a world-class customer service mentality 

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills 

  • Strong computer literacy, including ERP systems and advanced Excel skill 

  • Fluency in English both verbally and in writing 

  • Logical thinking and continuous improvement mind-set 

  • Enthusiasm, willingness to go the extra mile to achieve team success 

  • Proficient use of Microsoft office tools
