Job Description

AECOM's Transportation Engineering Group is seeking a self-driven and motivated Civil Engineering Graduate to further their professional development within our Calgary office.

In this role, you will provide technical support on projects ranging from highways, roadways, interchanges, LRT/transit, rail, to civil site design.

This will be a full-time position expected to begin as soon as possible.

 

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support project engineers and managers with routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Provide project coordination assistance for design and construction of infrastructure projects to support project managers with ensuring delivery of design deliverables.
  • Under supervision, work with stakeholders, third parties and client organizations
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Ensuring overall data quality and integrity, while following quality control procedures
  • Prepare documentation for design projects and reports
  • Assures that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts
  • Typical duties will include:
    • Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meetings.
    • Monitor project costs and budgets.
    • Prepare project schedules and monitor progress of work.
    • Review and compile client submittals
    • Assist with the preparation of technical specifications and bid documents

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous exposure or strong interest in transportation infrastructure construction.
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T) Designation, or eligible to register
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, OpenRoad, Civil 3D Design, or similar applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, MS Project (or other scheduling software), PowerPoint and BlueBeam.
