Minimum Requirements:

Computer Science degree or Technical College diploma
-
FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional
-
Good understanding of FOCUS framework
-
Hand on experience of implementing a CFM tool
-
10 years of infrastructure operations experience including and 3-5 years of cloud compute experience
-
Strong experience in DevOps, automation and orchestration
-
Strong collaboration and communication skills to bring together teams of technical experts to meet set objectives
-
Ability to be a strong influencer without authority
Responsibilities:
-
Manage cloud communications around usage, policy, technical changes, automation and cost as part of client engagement
-
Drive adoption of a cost transparent model in support of the showback / chargeback financial process
-
Build strong third party relationships with our cloud business partners to address new requirements, consulting services, and future capability needs

Develop the cloud process and policy guidelines to build and support cloud services in alignment with Suncor's strategic plan

Oversee cloud service cost allocation, tracking, and reporting, ensuring the financial health of the organization’s cloud infrastructure

Collaborate with Finance and Application teams to help them set realistic cloud budget forecasts and track spending to stay within established limits
-
Implement strategies to optimize cloud spending by identifying and removing unused or underutilized resources and recommending cost-effective alternatives
-
Provide visibility and reporting on cloud expenses to business and technical stakeholders to enable informed decision-making
-
Work closely with Application Teams, Finance, and Cloud Operations to promote a culture of accountability for cloud expenditures across the organization

Ensure compliance with cloud financial policies and governance frameworks while adhering to internal cost management practices

Continuously evaluate processes, tools, and techniques to improve cloud cost optimization and financial operations

Manage and operate cloud cost management tools for tracking and reporting purposes

Implement and maintain a robust cost allocation and tagging strategy to track and allocate cloud resources to the appropriate business units or teams

You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.

This is an office based role, hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
