OVERVIEW:
As a key member of our Corporate Relations division, the Community Impact Specialist will play a pivotal role in amplifying Alberta Blue Cross' presence and impact within the Calgary community and across southern Alberta. Although this role is based in Calgary, you'll work closely with our team in Edmonton to ensure alignment with our strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will include managing corporate and community sponsorships, engaging in outreach initiatives, and acting as a brand ambassador for Alberta Blue Cross. Additionally, you will contribute to exciting programs such as our Street Team and Community Grant Programs, reinforcing our commitment to community engagement across the province.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Assist in managing and executing corporate and community sponsorships and engagements.
- Build and nurture relationships within the community.
- Represent Alberta Blue Cross at sponsored events across Calgary and surrounding areas.
- Support sponsorship activation efforts to maximize impact and visibility.
- Lead, guide, and assess our grant programs.
- Collaborate with the Community Impact team on requests and opportunities.
- Assist with Street Team and mascot activations in Calgary.
- Support corporate events at our Calgary office.
- Coordinate promotional items for sponsorships.
- Handle special projects and duties as assigned.
- Attend both internal and external meetings as required.
- Track and maintain sponsorship records.
- Some evening and weekend work and occasional travel across the province will be required.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
- At least two years of relevant experience in corporate sponsorship, or fund development.
- Relevant post-secondary diploma or degree.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience coordinating sponsorships and deliverables.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and make timely decisions.
- Able to thrive in a collaborative, hybrid team setting.
- Self-motivated with previous experience managing multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment.
- Ability to manage priorities in working with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision in a team environment.
- A passion for community connection and fostering authentic relationships.
- A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is essential.
- Access to a vehicle and a valid drivers license.
- Ability to lift heavy boxes up to 30 pounds.
