Job Details

 

  • Participate fully as a member of the Complex Automobile Property Damage team, supporting a positive and accountable work environment that emphasizes quality decision‑making, collaboration, and defensible claim outcomes.
  • Manage complex auto property damage claims end‑to‑end, including third‑party property damage, rental exposures, specialty vehicles, and multi‑exposure losses
  • Ensure timely, clear, and professional communication with insureds, third parties, vendors, legal counsel, internal partners, and leadership on high‑impact or sensitive files.
  • Exercise sound judgment when identifying risk, coverage issues, liability concerns, indemnity exposure, and escalation points, ensuring matters are addressed proactively and in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and defensible claim documentation, recognizing the heightened likelihood of dispute, complaint, litigation, or regulatory review on Complex files.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing within the Complex team and across the broader claims organization by supporting coaching, mentoring, and informal training for peers
  • Actively participate in performance management, technical development, and cross‑training initiatives to continuously build expertise in complex auto property damage handling.
  • Partner effectively with internal departments to ensure informed, consistent, and well‑supported claim decisions.
  • Support a fair, inclusive, and respectful workplace that values diverse perspectives and collaborative problem‑solving.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the organization by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and credibility in all internal and external interactions.

 

Breadth & Depth

 

  • Apply an advanced level of technical knowledge and judgment to assess, investigate, and resolve complex auto property damage claims involving moderate to high financial, legal, and reputational risk.
  • Independently evaluate liability, causation, scope of damage, depreciation, and settlement strategy within assigned authority limits, escalating appropriately when exposures exceed authority or present heightened risk.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate reserves in accordance with reserving protocols, ensuring timely reassessment as claim facts evolve.
  • Work within defined guidelines while exercising discretion and judgment on non‑standard, nuanced, or precedent‑setting scenarios.
  • Leverage expert resources as required to support investigation, valuation, and resolution.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • College or university degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of insurance industry experience
