Job Description Summary
Overview of the Department• MasterCard Advisors, the professional services arm of MasterCard Worldwide, provides payments-focused consulting, marketing, information and risk management services to financial institutions and merchants worldwide. • With its unique category expertise, deep understanding of customer needs and successful track record in addressing complex challenges throughout the payments lifecycle, MasterCard Advisors addresses the challenges and opportunities of its clients, enhances MasterCard's strategic and tactical performance and establishes MasterCard's global thought-leadership pre-eminence.

The Role• A Consultant is a team member who actively contributes to delivering consulting projects for MasterCard Advisors' clients as well as internal project development. • Forms part of the Data & Analytics team helping shape the future of data insights by leveraging billions of anonymized, aggregated transactions and data in a 10 petabyte data warehouse to help financial institutions, merchants, media, and governments manage their businesses more effectively• Contribute towards the development of strategies and programs for large, strategically important regional and global clients• Structure, perform and synthesize own analysis to uncover the insights that support our recommendations to clients• Proactively search for knowledge, data and information by interacting with clients and other areas of MasterCard and MasterCard Advisors • Apply a range of quantitative analytical techniques to rigorously identify client issues• Develops recommendations, prepares materials and present findings at team meetings• Contributes to proposal preparation• Data management for database preparation and quality checks• Data analysis using R, Python, SQL, Hadoop • Builds presentations in PowerPoint to document team's products and offerings
All About You• Bachelor degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Industrial Engineering, Economics or other data driven analytics degree • Strong, hands-on data analysis skills• Professional level of English is required • Knowledge on Python, SQL or R for data manipulation and analysis• Experience using PowerPoint to make presentations to summarize results• Strong analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills, including ability to interpret large amounts of data, some of it ambiguous, and translate it into concise rational output• Team player with ability to work with all levels in a highly intellectual, collaborative, and fast paced environment• Affinity to learning new to technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Impala)• Nice to have: knowledge on Shinny for tool development
