We are currently hiring a Content Claims Specialist In-House to join our Edjuster team remotely in Canada. The position location is flexible, and we can offer in-office, hybrid or fully remote working arrangements. Edjuster is a division of Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc.

The Content Claims Specialist (CCS) assists with the inventory and valuation of a policy holder’s/claimant’s total loss contents. The Content Claims Specialist (CCS) helps list and value items lost in a claim. They handle claims quickly and accurately using edjuster’s process and our platform, Exclaim.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct data entry, research and pricing of higher-valued, personal contents based on like, kind and quality pricing, and working with various means of researching fair market pricing via suppliers, Internet, database and other means.
  • Conduct ongoing new research and price contents from completed claims inventories, schedule of loss forms and from contractor’s lists.
  • Submit completed claims reports to Insurance adjusters, close files to meet edjuster’s performance cycle times and productivity standards.
  • Perform according to Company performance/productivity standards on each task and on each and every claim.
  • Consistent and quality turnaround of all claims in accordance with the Company’s productivity and performance standards.
  • Report/record all time spent on each claim file on a consistent and daily basis.
  • Maintain claim related notes in the Company’s Claims System/Web-application (exclaim), relating to incurred hours over productivity standards, as well as related to specific issues and other pertinent notes. 
  • Effective and professional communications with all key stakeholders in the claims process, including; edjuster claims reps, adjusters, policyholders and industry contractors.
  • Consistently promote edjuster’s brand, image and reputation in a professional and positive manner.
  • Perform other tasks and claims-related functions from time to time, and as directed by the Company’s Manager, In House Operations.
  • Must have and maintain a hi-speed internet connection to work with edjuster’s website and equipment provided.
  • Maintain a 40-hour workweek when required and work is available, at the Manager’s request. This will vary and will be mandatory in accordance with operational requirements. 
Qualifications
  • A Secondary School diploma
  • Some prior background/experience in the property claims industry would be considered an asset. 
  • Be able to provide an adequate workspace, free of noise
  • Employee must provide their own high speed internet service
  • Company equipment will be provided. It is the employee’s responsibility to care and maintain the equipment, as per policy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and new technology
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve
  • Minimum 6 months experience in data entry, transcription, retail, or customer service roles
  • Prior experience in property claims considered an asset
  • English/French/Spanish - Bilingual an asset
