Content Marketing Manager

About the Opportunity

StandardFusion is seeking a strategic, experienced Content Marketing Manager to join our team in Vancouver, BC on a full-time basis.

This role combines vision with execution. You'll develop the content roadmap that positions us as the industry authority in GRC, then work closely with the team and external writers to bring it to life. You're equally comfortable mapping out quarterly strategy, writing compelling pieces, and diving into edits to ensure every piece aligns with our voice, messaging, and the authority we're building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute Content Strategy: Build and implement a multi-quarter content strategy that establishes StandardFusion as an industry authority in the information security and GRC space.
  • Create High-Value Content: Develop thought leadership articles, blog posts, case studies, whitepapers, email campaigns, website copy, and product messaging by creating content and collaborating with writers. Translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences.
  • Build Thought Leadership Program: Develop original research, industry reports, and insights that educate the market and differentiate StandardFusion from competitors. Position the company as the go-to resource for GRC knowledge online.
  • Manage External Writers: Oversee freelance writers to help scale content production. Edit and refine content to maintain quality and brand voice, ensuring all output meets our standards.
  • Organic SEO & Social Strategy: Develop and execute content strategies for SEO and organic social channels to drive brand visibility and recognition among target audiences.
  • Support Product Releases: Develop compelling product announcements and release content. Work with product and sales teams to create sales enablement materials, one-pagers, and technical documentation.
  • Manage Content Operations: Build processes and editorial calendars that ensure consistency across all channels. Maintain high production velocity while ensuring quality.
  • Analyze and Optimize: Track content performance metrics, understand what resonates with the audience, and continuously refine strategy based on data insights.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with demand generation, sales, and product teams to ensure content aligns with business goals and supports the full customer journey.

More About You

We're looking for someone who brings both strategic vision and exceptional execution. You're a storyteller who can make complex topics interesting, a strategist who thinks in campaigns not just content pieces, and a hands-on creator who's comfortable both creating content and refining work from others.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5-7 years of B2B SaaS content marketing experience, with a proven track record of building thought leadership programs
  • Strong content creation skills with the ability to produce high-quality content and refine work from external writers to meet brand standards
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a portfolio demonstrating various content types
  • Experience managing external writers and content contributors while maintaining hands-on involvement in content creation
  • Strong strategic thinking, able to develop multi-quarter content roadmaps and execute them
  • Deep understanding of SEO, content performance analytics, and data-driven strategy
  • Experience creating technical content for business audiences (translating complexity into clarity)
  • Understanding of full-funnel content strategy from awareness to conversion
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Startup mentality, comfortable wearing multiple hats and working collaboratively
  • Self-starter who can work independently and take ownership

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in cybersecurity, GRC, compliance, or related technical fields
  • Familiarity with information security and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms (ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Event content strategy experience
  • Media relations or PR experience
  • Experience with content distribution and promotion strategies
  • Product marketing background
  • Understanding of B2B buying cycles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to find unique angles in technical topics
