About The Sales Factory

The Sales Factory is a technology-enabled B2B outsourced sales and revenue infrastructure company headquartered in Toronto.

We're ranked #1 in Canada and #2 globally on G2 for outsourced sales, operate in 13 languages, and serve clients ranging from scale-ups to S&P 500 companies and governments.

We're a fast-moving, profitable company of 80-100 people across Canada and the US, and finance sits at the center of how we run the business.

The Role

We're looking for a Controller to own the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role with no direct reports currently, but with real ownership from day one and real room to grow. You'll be the finance engine of the business: closing the books, owning payroll start to finish within Ceridian Dayforce, keeping cash flowing, and building out the financial model alongside our advisors.

We're a tech-forward company and we're actively automating our AP and billing workflows in QuickBooks/Xero, so you should be excited about using modern tools to make finance faster and cleaner, not attached to doing things the old way.

What You'll Do

  • Own day-to-day financial operations in QuickBooks or Xero: bookkeeping, invoicing, A/R, A/P, and bill processing (much of this is being automated, and you'll help drive that).

  • Own payroll end to end, start to finish, within Ceridian Dayforce — including employer taxes and remittances across Canadian and US entities.

  • Manage month-end close and keep our financials accurate and audit-ready.

  • Handle filings, audit documentation, and finance-side client onboarding (banking info requests, vendor forms, etc.).

  • Rebuild and maintain our financial model from the ground up, with input and oversight from our advisors.

  • Coordinate with our fractional CFO on higher-level reporting and financial planning.

  • Ad-hoc projects across finance and operations as we grow.

What We're Looking For

  • 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience.

  • CPA, CA strongly preferred.

  • Currently a Senior Manager of Accounting, Assistant Controller, or similar, ready to step into a Controller seat.

  • Must be able to run payroll start to finish independently within Ceridian Dayforce — new hires, terminations, deductions, benefits, off-cycle runs, employer taxes, and remittances — with no ramp-up time needed on the platform.

  • Exceptional attention to detail. You catch the penny that's off.

  • Smart, fast, and curious. You figure things out without a playbook.

  • Tech-savvy: comfortable with modern accounting and automation tools (QuickBooks/Xero, Excel/Google Sheets), quick to pick up new software.

  • Comfortable working independently in an individual-contributor capacity, with direct exposure to the CEO and fractional CFO rather than a large finance team.

  • Experience in a services or agency business is a plus.

  • Cross-border (Canada/US) exposure is a plus.

Why This Role

  • Full ownership of the finance function at a profitable, growing company.

  • Direct exposure to the CEO, fractional CFO, and external advisors.

  • Clear growth path: this is a build-and-grow seat, not a maintenance job.

  • Modern stack, real automation, no legacy bureaucracy.

The Sales Factory is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against based on disability.
