POSITION OVERVIEW

At BDC, the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs, we support the growth of small and medium‑sized businesses across Canada. As a Coordinator, Operations Support (Advisory Services), you will work within a national virtual team to administer consulting projects and support Business Advisors with operational and administrative needs. Your role helps ensure a seamless consulting delivery experience for our clients. At BDC, you can be yourself at work while contributing to the success of Canadian businesses.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Work collaboratively within a national virtual team to administer a portfolio of consulting projects.

  • Support Special Advisory Services programs, including Defense and Lift.

  • Support national proposal preparation activities and consulting projects.

  • Provide operational and administrative support to a dedicated team of Business Advisors, including amendment execution, client billing, subsidy program support, budget adjustments, consultant invoicing, project closing, accounts receivable (AR) management, approval tracking, and project coordination.

  • Ensure compliance with BDC norms by applying Advisory Services systems, processes, and procedures to support project management activities.

  • Respond to administrative issues raised by clients or network consultants to maintain client satisfaction and partner engagement.

  • Proactively identify operational risks, inefficiencies, or communication gaps and recommend or initiate improvement actions.

  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project information in designated Advisory Services systems.

  • Ensure service standard objectives are met and remain current on changes to Advisory Services processes and procedures.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to support team members and adjust priorities during peak demand periods.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Postsecondary education or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an operational or administrative role.

  • Experience supporting multiple stakeholders and managing concurrent tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adjust priorities.

  • Customer service orientation.

  • Ability to balance procedural requirements with client‑first thinking.

  • Basic analytical and financial skills (e.g., billing, budgets, invoices, AR).

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and platforms.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a consulting, advisory, professional services, or financial services environment.

  • Experience working in a regulated or process‑driven environment.
