This is a conversion focused copywriting role dedicated to optimizing LawDepot’s checkout experience. Your work directly impacts conversion rate, pricing perception, and customer lifetime value across a high traffic global eCommerce platform.

Working alongside analysts, UX designers, and technical teams, you will run experiments, analyze results, and iterate quickly to improve performance.

This role is based in Edmonton, Alberta, with a hybrid work arrangement.

What You'll Do:
  • Create and optimize checkout pages for a large-scale eCommerce website, with a focus on conversion rate optimization (CRO) and customer lifetime value

  • Write persuasive, concise, and user-focused copy that guides customers confidently through the checkout journey

  • Structure and refine page elements to improve clarity, usability, and performance

  • Communicate pricing, subscriptions, and value propositions clearly and effectively

  • Implement copy and design updates using our internal content management system (CMS), ensuring accuracy and attention to detail

  • Research checkout best practices, competitor strategies, pricing approaches, and user behavior to uncover optimization opportunities

  • Design and execute A/B tests to evaluate and improve checkout performance

  • Analyze experiment results, usage data, and customer segments to inform future decisions

  • Collaborate with analysts, UX designers, product owners, and specialists to plan and prioritize initiatives

  • Coordinate with IS teams to support implementations outside the CMS

  • Communicate progress, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders

What You Bring:The Essentials
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications, Consumer Psychology, or other relevant fields

  • Experience with conversion focused copywriting

  • Understanding of consumer psychology, online marketing, and conversion optimization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong editing skills to ensure clarity, consistency, and readability of material

  • Ability to convey complicated information in a succinct way and adjust writing style based on audience

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Ability to identify opportunities and suggest new ideas

  • Self-driven, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to learn new tools quickly (ex. content management systems)

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work

The Nice to Haves (Great if you have it and we’ll help you learn if you don’t)
  • Experience with front end tools and basic web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Comfort iterating on visual experiments using CSS

  • Experience with A/B testing for funnel optimization

  • Technical or UX writing experience

  • Knowledge of CRO best practices and content optimization strategies

Compensation

Range: $55,000 – $65,000 CAD

Placement within the range is based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, unique qualifications, and alignment with the role’s scope and impact. In addition to base compensation, LawDepot offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
