The role will support business areas in identifying risks in their processes and implementing and owning controls to manage these risks.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent education with 8+ years of experience
- Chartered Professional Accountant
- Experience in Risk Management, Operational Auditing and Compliance
Responsibilities:
- Support all business areas on the design, documentation, approval process and implementation of cost-effective, adequate, and effective internal controls compatible with controls systems, Policies & Standards, and Suncor reporting requirements.
- Support Suncor’s Management Controls Framework compliance including completion of risk assessment, advise on control design based on identified risks, training, stewardship/monitoring, management of change impact reviews, and self-assessment activities to monitor adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
- Support the business on incident closures and corrective action plan to ensure proper documentation is updated accordingly in a centralized controls register and ready for Business Controls Approval.
- Liaise with internal and the external stakeholders as part of the overall ICFR requirements for Suncor.
- Participate in:
- Risk Assessment reviews and MOC planning.
- Documentation of audit assessments and communication of findings
Location and other Key Details:
- This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
- Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
