Why STARS
At STARS, we come to work every day with a purpose…to save lives. Whether you work in the aircraft or at one of our six bases, everyone at STARS plays a vital role in helping to provide critical care, anywhere. Since flying our first mission in 1985, we have never lost sight of what is most important – our VIPS, or Very Important Patients. Each year, we fly over 3,000 missions, providing world-class critical medical care whenever and wherever we are needed, and every team member contributes to helping that VIP. We are a lifeline to the community when time and clinical expertise can make all the difference.
We are currently looking for a CRM & Reporting Specialist to join our Foundation team at our Calgary base and lead the development of centralized reporting, analytics, and data governance for the STARS Foundation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working deeply with data and translating complex information into insights that guide fundraising strategy and performance.
It takes a team to make a difference in people’s lives. When it comes to STARS’ life-saving mission, it also takes individuals, communities, industry and governments. As a member of our Foundation team, you will support our fundraising programs by ensuring leaders and teams have the data, insights, and reporting they need to make informed decisions. Be part of something bigger. Be part of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain centralized dashboards and reporting that provide clear visibility into fundraising performance, pipeline health, and donor engagement trends, using data from Raiser’s Edge NXT and other sources.
- Develop standardized KPIs and reporting frameworks across fundraising programs to ensure consistent and trusted performance reporting.
- Build and manage complex queries, data extracts, and reporting datasets to support analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Analyze fundraising, financial, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate findings into insights that inform strategic decision-making.
- Lead internal fundraising performance reporting and variance analysis in alignment with Finance reporting.
- Establish and lead data governance practices for Foundation reporting, including defining KPI standards, reporting definitions, and processes that support a strong culture of data-informed decision-making.
- Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience in reporting, analytics, data analysis, or a related role, ideally within a fundraising, non-profit, or complex data environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends and performance drivers, and translate findings into clear insights that inform strategic decision-making.
- Advanced experience with CRM-based reporting and analytics; Raiser’s Edge NXT experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to build dashboards, develop KPIs, and create complex queries and data exports.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; Power BI or similar tools an asset.
- Education or training in data analytics, statistics, business intelligence, or a related field preferred.
At STARS, every day we come to work with a purpose, to save lives. Maybe that’s your purpose too.
We provide a strong total reward offering inclusive of a salary tailored to your education and experience, comprehensive organization-paid health and dental benefits, free parking and more. But the real reward is joining a legacy – a legacy of lives saved, of hope in the fact of the unimaginable, and of pride in making a difference.

Employees can spend up to one-third of their life at work, so choosing the right company is crucial, not just for the job itself but for the company culture as well. While startups often offer dynamic culture and growth opportunities, large corporations provide benefits like career development and networking, especially appealing to recent graduates. Fortunately, Calgary stands out as a hub for both, recognized as one of Startup Genome's Top 100 Emerging Ecosystems, while also playing host to a number of multinational enterprises. In Calgary, job seekers can find a wide range of opportunities.
