Data Capture Operations - Project Manager

Location: Canada, Remote

At Niricson, we're transforming how critical infrastructure is inspected and maintained.

Using proprietary acoustic sensing technology, advanced robotics, drones, AI, and computer vision, we're helping owners of bridges, dams, spillways, airfields, and other critical infrastructure make safer, smarter decisions.

Our mission is simple:

Making Infrastructure Safer.

As we continue scaling our global operations, we're looking for someone who thrives on organization, communication, and bringing complex projects together.

The Role

The Data Capture Operations - Project Manager is the operational hub of Niricson's global Data Capture organization.

Rather than spending most of your time in the field, you'll be responsible for ensuring every data capture project is thoroughly planned, coordinated, communicated, and successfully executed.

You'll work across Sales, Clients, the Senior Project Manager, the Director of DRONIC® Data Capture & Network Operations, the Data Capture Lead, Geospatial, Engineering, and external drone partners to ensure projects move seamlessly from signed contract to successful deployment.

This is a highly collaborative role where success depends on exceptional communication, planning, organization, and attention to detail.

If you love coordinating moving pieces, solving logistical challenges, and making complex operations feel effortless, you'll thrive here.

What You’ll Do

Project Planning & Execution

  • Coordinate all Data Capture projects from project handoff through completion.
  • Translate signed client contracts into executable field deployment plans.
  • Build detailed project timelines and execution schedules.
  • Ensure project milestones remain on track.
  • Identify risks early and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent deployments across North America and internationally.

Client Communication

Become the primary operational contact for clients before and during field deployments.

You will:

  • Clarify project scope
  • Confirm site access requirements
  • Coordinate scheduling
  • Manage logistics

  • Data Capture Team
  • Geospatial Team
  • Product & Engineering
  • Operations
  • Finance

Logistics Management

Coordinate everything required for successful field deployments, including:

  • Equipment shipments
  • Drone logistics
  • Site access documentation
  • Safety documentation
  • Field schedules
  • Resource planning

Resource Planning

Work closely with the Director and Data Capture Field Lead to:

  • Schedule technicians
  • Balance workloads
  • Reduce unnecessary travel
  • Improve utilization
  • Forecast upcoming resource needs

A key objective of this role is helping reduce operational pressure on the Data Capture team by ensuring projects are thoroughly organized before technicians arrive on site.

Cross-Functional Communication

Keeping everyone informed and aligned throughout each project is crucial, so you will ensure information flows smoothly between every stakeholder.

You'll communicate with:

  • Clients
  • Internal leadership
  • Senior Project Manager
  • Field Technicians
  • Drone operators
  • Contractors
  • Engineering teams

Continuous Improvement

As Niricson grows, you'll play an important role in helping us build world-class operational systems, so you will also help build scalable operational processes by:

  •  Improving project planning workflows
  • Standardizing documentation
  • Developing playbooks
  • Improving communication templates
  • Identifying operational bottlenecks
  • Recommending process improvements

What You’ll Bring

  • 3–5+ years of project coordination, operations, logistics, client delivery, or project management experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong client-facing experience
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize in fast-changing environments
  • Close attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience using project management software (Asana, or similar)
  • Comfortable working with technical teams

Nice-to-Have

  • PMP certification (or working toward one)
  • Experience in engineering, construction, surveying, drones, infrastructure, utilities, or field operations
  • Knowledge of GIS, UAV operations, or infrastructure inspection
  • Experience coordinating field crews
  • Experience with international logistics
  • Familiarity with procurement and equipment coordination

Success in this Role

Within your first year, you'll help:

✓ Improve project visibility across departments

✓ Reduce scheduling conflicts

✓ Improve client communication

✓ Improve deployment readiness

✓ Allow Field Technicians to spend more time collecting data, and less time coordinating logistics

✓ Help scale Niricson's global DRONIC® operations

What Makes You Successful

You're someone who...

  • Loves creating order out of complexity.
  • Enjoys solving operational puzzles.
  • Communicates proactively.
  • Builds trust with clients and teammates.
  • Thinks several steps ahead.
  • Doesn't wait for problems; you prevent them.
  • Stays calm when priorities shift.
  • Takes ownership and follows through.
