The Opportunity

Palmstreet is looking for a Data Scientist II to join the team and drive data-powered decision-making. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business and marketing stakeholders to develop analytic dashboards, generate actionable product insights and build AI/ML solutions that accelerate GMV growth. You will apply advanced AI/ML techniques to enhance live personalization, growth forecasting, LTV inference, supply-demand optimization and wherever creativity happens.

The right candidate must be based in Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable ETL pipelines to process and analyze terabytes of user interaction data.

  • Define, visualize and monitor key business and product metrics to inform decision-making.

  • Build, deploy, A/B test and iterate on ML products using appropriate algorithms and infrastructures.

  • Partner with PMs, designers and engineers to develop scalable AI/ML-driven products.

  • Successfully completes projects at large scope while maintaining a consistent high level of productivity and standard.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of analytics experience in growth market, campaigns, user behaviors or economics.

  • 2+ years of hands-on ML experience in supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL with big data fundamentals on a cloud platform.

  • Ability to identify and propose growth opportunities actively.

  • Passion for working in a fast-paced startup environment, making difference and driving meaningful impact.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote work setting.

  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Mandarin) is a plus, but not required.

Your Location:

  • Remote - Canada

Compensation:

  • Pay Range: $100,000 - $132,000 CAD

The pay range for this role is determined by job-related factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and current market data. Compensation ranges may be modified in the future to adjust for updated market data.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes:

  • Retirement Savings Plan through Wealthsimple with 4% employer contribution

  • Life, AD&D, short-term, and long-term disability insurance
