More about the role
This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Development & Support Engineer in Calgary with Signify.Own post–commercial‑release product support, including 3rd‑line manufacturing support, BOM/TPD maintenance, product changes, alternate component releases, and re‑approbation activities.
Manage product configuration and engineering updates, including re‑engineering, customization, lifecycle change control in PLM, and accurate processing to SAP/ERP.
Drive product and process optimization through root‑cause analysis, quality improvements, cost‑downs, digitization initiatives, and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
Lead Engineering‑to‑Order (ETO) activities, including design, technical documentation, prototype builds, testing, and cross‑functional collaboration with Quality, Assembly, and Manufacturing teams.
Provide technical expertise across installation/luminaire applications, connected systems, regulatory compliance, staff training, and ensuring adherence to safety and approval standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, offering strong grounding in product design, manufacturing processes, and core engineering principles.
Up to 1 year of product engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to BOM management, technical documentation, and product lifecycle or process improvement support.
Proficiency in computer‑aided drafting (CAD), with the ability to create detailed drawings, brackets, and other mechanical design elements.
Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software, with existing familiarity considered an asset (training can be provided).
Strong mechanical aptitude paired with critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to support design tasks and troubleshoot technical challenges effectively.
