THE ROLE: We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to strengthen the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform. You’ll collaborate closely with development, product, and operations teams to automate infrastructure, improve developer workflows, and ensure live systems stay performant and secure.

THE LOCATION: Calgary, Alberta

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Shape the cloud core – scale and harden our Google Cloud + Kubernetes (GKE) platform so it’s ready for the next 10× in traffic.
• Automate the developer experience – craft Python tooling that turns local setup, data refresh, and roll-backs into single-command magic.
• Keep the release engine humming – refine our GitOps/CI-CD flow and the SLO-driven monitoring + alerting loop that spot issues before users do.
• Ship flagship infra projects – lead initiatives like Cloudflare domain migration, “one-minute” DB snapshot/restore, and next-gen observability dashboards.
• Own security & compliance – co-drive PCI evidence automation and bake security hardening into every layer of the stack.
• Guard the night shift – rotate on-call, squash incidents fast, and convert every lesson into another bit of self-healing automation.
• Relentlessly optimize – chase every performance, cost, or DX win you can find—then celebrate the numbers dropping.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years operating production workloads on Google Cloud & Kubernetes (GKE)
• Python + Fabric automation skills and a “script-it-once, eliminate toil forever” mindset
• Comfortable with Git-centric CI/CD & GitOps pipelines (GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience designing observability and incident-response workflows (metrics, logs, traces, paging)
• Eagerness to co-own PCI/security compliance alongside engineering leadership
• Thrive in an Agile, ownership-driven culture and communicate clearly across disciplines

NICE-TO-HAVES:

• Cloudflare or other network-hardening experience
• Rapid database snapshot/restore automation know-how
• Infrastructure-as-Code or packaging tools (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize)
• Workflow orchestration platforms (Temporal, Airflow)
