**This position will be hybrid and can be based out of any of our North American Company 3 studios (Canada: Vancouver, BC, Toronto, ON; US: Santa Monica, CA, New York, NY, Atlanta, GA).
POSITION SUMMARY:
Company 3 performs post production services for features, commercials, network and cable TV shows. Such services include dailies, color correction, editing and special effects.
This role is a senior Finance position working across the full Company 3 portfolio, reporting to the VP of Finance, based in Toronto. The primary focus of the role is to lead an FP&A team of 12 (4 direct reports) as strategic partners to the business, providing strategic financial analysis and insight to help support decision making.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Finance Director will lead a team of 12 across Toronto, London, LA and India to provide business partnering and financial analysis to the business unit leaders and Company 3 senior leadership team. They will work closely with the Financial Controller to manage the month end close process and lead on the month end performance analysis which includes providing a performance summary to the Group team during the month end review call, and lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with the business and wider Finance team, to analyze the budget/forecasts and help deliver the business strategy. - Support senior leadership in strategic decision making by providing timely financial analysis and insight. This may include analysis on revenue, pipeline visibility, costs and project profitability.
- Work with the business to forecast and manage cash.
- Continuously seek to improve processes and improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Utilize AI tools to improve processes and workflows.
- Continuously seek to improve margin in the form of both revenue growth and cost control.
- Support with capital expenditure proposals including ROI and presentations for approval.
- Assist with Finance system implementations and upgrades.
- Ad hoc requests from both Group Finance and senior management
WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will be well-experienced financial planning and analysis/commercial finance/business partnering. They must have experience liaising with senior stakeholders and be able to manage a team and interface effectively at all levels of the organization. Additional desired skills include:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in the entertainment (Film, TV or advertising) industry
- Educational background in a related (MBA or accounting/finance/economics) is a plus
- Experience in post-production industry a plus
- Strong systems skills, especially MS Office Suite/Excel; experience with database systems or D365 is a plus
