The Director of Insights is responsible for leading the insights function for the Market Intelligence and Analytics within the Strategic Sales & Analytics department, ensuring that business intelligence translates into actionable strategies that drive measurable business impact. The Director of Insights will provide key insights for executives, sales teams, and brand leaders, shaping data-driven decision-making at the highest levels.
A critical part of Director of Insights is building and managing an Outrageously Extraordinary Insights, developing talent, and ensuring the function scales with business needs. Additionally, the Director will work in close partnership with the Director of Insights for EMEA to drive global consistency in insights, methodologies, and strategic recommendations, driving a culture of informed decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development:
- Build and scale the Insights team over time, identifying key roles needed for long-term success
- Provide mentorship, leadership, and professional development for team members as they are onboarded
- Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture, ensuring insights directly impact business strategies
Strategic Insights & Business Impact:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive insights strategy that informs executive decision-making and enhances business performance
- Collaborate with other team members (Market Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, Data Foundation, and Visualization) and key stakeholders (Finance, Commercial Planning) to integrate insights across all analytics disciplines
- Ensure sales, brand, and executive teams have access to actionable insights that support key business objectives
- Foster a bias for action and champion SharkNinja's Obsessed with Winning approach, ensuring cutting-edge insights drive measurable outcomes as a competitive advantage
Global Partnership & Alignment:
- Work closely with the Director of Insights for EMEA to align on methodologies, best practices, and global insights strategies
- Ensure consistency in insights frameworks, performance measurement, and reporting across global markets
- Collaborate on best-in-class approaches to business intelligence, ensuring insights have a unified global impact
Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence:
- Act as the primary insights liaison between the analytics team and senior business leaders, ensuring insights are effectively translated into actions with measurable outcomes
- Provide strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights, influencing leadership and cross-functional teams
- Ensure insights are aligned with broader company goals, collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to enhance business performance
Measurement & Accountability:
- Establish clear success metrics to measure the impact of insights on business decisions
- Develop processes to identify early signals of success or underperformance (spot the smoke), allowing for quick reactions and strategic pivots
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies, ensuring insights evolve with business needs
Process Optimization & Innovation:
- Continuously refine and enhance insights delivery to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
- Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices, ensuring SharkNinja remains at the forefront of data-driven decision-making
- Leverage automation, AI, and advanced analytics to enhance the scalability and accuracy of insights
Insights & Visual Storytelling:
- Spearhead the development ofexecutive dashboards, business performance reports, and strategic presentations that deliver impactful insights
- Ensure insights are customized to key stakeholders-including executives, sales teams, and brand leaders-to drive effective decision-making
- Utilize leading data visualization tools to present complex analytics in a clear, compelling, and actionable format
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in executive reporting, strategic insights development, and business intelligence
- Proven ability to build and lead a team, providing clear direction, coaching, and mentorship
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership
- Strong stakeholder management expertise, with experience tailoring insights to different business functions
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a corporate environment delivering executive-level insights and reporting
- Background in planning, finance, consumer insights, retail analytics, and/or competitive intelligence
- Knowledge of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI-driven insights is a plus
- Experience working in a global organization with cross-regional collaboration
