Hiive is redefining how private companies and their shareholders access liquidity. Through its institutional-grade platform, Hiive brings together buyers, sellers, and issuers to facilitate secondary transactions in venture-backed, pre-IPO companies, introducing efficiency, transparency, and standardization to an otherwise opaque asset class.
Recognized as one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies and backed by leading U.S. investors, Hiive is profitable, well-capitalized, and building a high-performance team to meet growing demand and pursue new market opportunities.

Hiive is looking for a Director of Product Management to lead our product strategy and scale our product organization. Reporting to an industry veteran with 25+ years of experience, you will be a key pillar of our leadership team. You aren’t just a manager; you are a systems thinker who can refine our SDLC, mentor high-performing PMs, and ensure our fast-moving engineering team is shipping the right things to drive exponential business growth.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Defining and evangelizing the product roadmap, ensuring every feature aligns with Hiive’s long-term business goals and marketplace dynamics.
Partnering with the Director of Product Design and Engineering leadership to optimize the SDLC, ensuring a seamless flow from discovery to delivery.
Recruiting, mentoring, and scaling a team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of rigorous thinking, data-informed decision-making, and "extreme ownership."
Acting as the primary bridge between Product and cross-functional partners in Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure successful GTM execution.
Implementing and refining mental models for prioritization (e.g., balancing "customer delight" vs. "technical debt" vs. "revenue growth").
Establishing a gold standard for how the team uses data to validate hypotheses and measure the ROI of shipped features.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of Product Management experience, with at least 3+ years in a dedicated leadership or people-management role within a high-growth startup environment.
Experience scaling products from early traction to significant market share, specifically within complex ecosystems.
Expert-level ability to query data, define KPIs, and use BI tools to drive product strategy (we believe "gut feel" is a starting point, not a destination).
The ability to distill complex technical or business trade-offs into clear, actionable narratives for executive stakeholders.
Deep understanding of how changes in one part of a system (e.g., a marketplace) ripple through to affect user behavior and business health.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep knowledge of liquidity, clearing, or complex transactional platforms.
A background in Software Engineering or a deep technical understanding of modern API-first architectures.
Advanced experience with Amplitude, SQL, and Figma to facilitate close collaboration with our Design and Data teams.
Experience managing the nuances of high-touch enterprise customers alongside a scalable product vision.
Compensation, Benefits & Perks:
Highly competitive salary commensurate with experience and contribution.
Opportunity to participate in ownership of a rapidly growing company through our employee stock option plan.
Comprehensive 100% employer-paid health & dental premiums and a Health/Personal Spending Account for Canadian employees. (An employer-subsidized benefits program is available for US-based team members).
